Operation Action-Selfie

 

While I am working hard to look for some diverse women who are interested in putting together a book of their art inspired by polices that affected them - I realized there is more I can do to try and get people out there to make a difference. I launched Rogue Musings because I wanted to make a difference in the world. All I have are my photos. Perhaps I can use that.

So here is my challenge: I want everyone to meet with an elected official. Congressmen, State Rep, etc. Even your city council counts. Go to a town hall or a city council meeting, arrange a meeting in your state capital - go all out and meet with your representative in DC! And while you are there take a selfie. Yes a selfie. Or at least have someone take a photo of you with who you are meeting.  

What is the point? These are real people in elected position we put them in. They work for us. And this is a great way to show ANYONE can make sure their voice is heard by the people asking for their votes.

Your one selfie is powerful because it shows people how easy it is to get involved. In a time people are feeling disenfranchised you can show them how quickly and easily you spoke with someone voted in by people like you.

As an extra perk I will be giving out FREE PRINTS (yes free-free) to people who share their action-selfies. No shipping, no nothing. I am in a good position to do this so I am going to do it. It has to be a photo I took from my website, I don't have the rights to other people's stuff. Check out my galleries!

 - First 5 people to get a selfie can have any photo from my website at up to 10x15 or equivalent. 
 - Next 10 people after that can have up to an 8X12 or equivalent. 
 - Next 20 after that gets the choice of any photo they would like on a stationary card. 
 - If this project is successful I will try and think of other challenges or perks.  

Here is what you need to do to get your free photo:

  • Meet with an elected official such as a congressmen, state representative, a city council member, or go to a city council meeting or a town hall where there is an elected official. You are welcome to reach out as make sure the person you are meeting with counts.
  • Get a selfie or a photo of yourself with the elected member you are there to see.
  • Share your photo on Twitter or on Facebook. Let the world know what you did. Be sure to tag or share with RogueMusings Facebook or Twitter so I see it! 
  • Email me Kara@RogueMusings.com so I can get your info and I know what print to send you and where to send it!
